Voyah, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under Dongfeng Motor (HKG: 0489), has launched the Taishan, joining China's large hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) competition.

The Voyah Taishan was officially launched today with a starting price of RMB 379,900 ($53,420), taking on rivals including the Aito M9, Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) 9X, and BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Denza N9.

Voyah offers three variants of the six-seat large SUV: Max, Max+, and Ultra, priced at RMB 379,900, RMB 409,900, and RMB 459,900 respectively.

The NEV maker plans to launch a limited-edition Black Knight version of the Taishan in the first quarter 2026, starting at a higher price point of RMB 509,900.

Shortly after the launch event, Voyah announced on Weibo that the model secured over 10,000 firm orders within its first 21 minutes.

The Voyah Taishan measures 5,230 mm in length, 2,025 mm in width, and 1,817 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm and a curb weight of about 2.8 tons.

The hybrid SUV is built on Huawei's 800-volt high-voltage platform and will feature Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4 smart driving system alongside the HarmonySpace 5 cockpit system.

Its smart driving sensors include four LiDARs, making it one of the few models in the Chinese market equipped with four LiDAR units.

It features a 1.5L turbocharged engine delivering a maximum power of 110 kW. The powertrain incorporates dual electric motors, with peak outputs of 150 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear.

With this setup, the Voyah Taishan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 or 5.5 seconds.

The Voyah Taishan comes standard with a 65-kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 350 kilometers. With a full tank and fully charged battery, its CLTC range extends to 1,430 kilometers.

The model supports 5C fast charging, enabling a charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 12 minutes.

Voyah's current lineup includes the Free SUV, Zhiyin SUV, Dream MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), and Zhuiguang sedan.

The NEV maker will launch the Zhuiguang L sedan in December, it announced at today's event. Voyah unveiled the Zhuiguang L on September 26 and began accepting pre-orders.

Voyah delivered a record 17,218 vehicles in October, marking a 69.52 percent increase from the 10,157 units delivered in the same period last year and a 13.10 percent rise from September's 15,224 units, according to data released on November 1.
