IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) unit of SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104), today officially launched the IM LS9 large six-seat extended-range SUV (sport utility vehicle), marking another hybrid model with long battery range for the Chinese market.

The IM LS9 comes in two variants -- 52 Ultra and 66 Ultra -- priced at RMB 322,800 ($45,360) and RMB 352,800 respectively, both reduced by RMB 14,000 from their pre-sales prices.

Deliveries for the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) will commence later this month, with IM Motors planning to introduce the IM LS9 Hyper variant in the first quarter of 2026.

The six-seat SUV measures 5,279 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,806 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm.

It features SAIC's Hengxing extended-range system built on an 800-volt high-voltage architecture.

The IM LS9 utilizes CATL's (SHE: 300750) Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery, available in 52 kWh and 66 kWh configurations. The CLTC battery ranges are 320 km and 402 km respectively.

The 52-kWh pack utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, while the 66-kWh pack employs ternary lithium cells.

With a full tank and fully charged battery, the IM LS9's two variants achieve combined ranges of 1,454 km and 1,508 km respectively.

The model supports fast charging, reaching 80 percent charge from 10 percent in 16.5 minutes.

The IM LS9 features dual motors, with both variants' rear motors delivering a peak power of 230 kW. The front motor in the lower-priced variant has a peak power of 150 kW, while the other variant's front motor produces 160 kW.

This powertrain delivers a combined peak power of up to 390 kW (523 horsepower) and a combined torque of 670 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

The LS9 features a 520-channel LiDAR system, one of the most powerful LiDAR setups currently available in Chinese EVs.

It utilizes the Nvidia Thor AI chip and is equipped with the IM AD Max autonomous driving system powered by Momenta.
