Nevo, a sub-brand of Changan Automobile (SHE: 000625), officially launched its new A06 model yesterday with a starting price of RMB 109,900 ($15,440), adding another affordable sedan option to China's market.
The new model offers both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions, similar to many other new energy vehicle (NEV) models currently available in China.
The Nevo A06 BEV comes in six trim levels, priced at RMB 109,900, RMB 119,900, RMB 129,900, RMB 139,900, RMB 139,900, and RMB 149,900 respectively.
The Nevo A06 EREV comes in two variants, priced starting at RMB 119,900 and RMB 129,900.
It will primarily compete in the Chinese market against models including the BYD (HKG: 1211) Qin L, Geely Auto (HKG: 0175)'s Geely Galaxy A7, and the Nissan N7.
The five-seat rear-wheel-drive car is the first sedan model on Changan's SDA (Software-Defined Car) platform, measuring 4,885 mm in length, 1,916 mm in width, and 1,496 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,922 mm.
The Nevo A06 BEV offers two motor options with maximum power outputs of 210 kW (281 hp) and 120 kW, delivering peak torques of 290 Nm and 190 Nm respectively.
The Nevo A06 BEV offers two range options: a 63.18-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivering 630 km of CLTC range, and a 51.48-kWh LFP battery providing 510 km of CLTC range.
The Nevo A06 EREV features a rear motor with 120 kW maximum power and 190 Nm maximum torque.
Both EREV variants come standard with a 1.5L engine serving as a range extender, delivering a maximum power output of 72 kW.
The Nevo A06 EREV features a 28.39 kWh LFP battery, achieving a CLTC battery range of 240 kilometers. With a full tank and fully charged battery, the combined range reaches 2,120 kilometers.
The two highest-priced Nevo A06 variants feature LiDAR for enhanced driver assistance capabilities.
Nevo is Changan's new brand launched in August 2023. Changan said at the time that the brand's product lineup would include the A Series, Q Series, and E0 Series.
Currently available Nevo models include the A05 sedan, A06 sedan, A07 sedan, Q05 SUV, Q07 SUV, E07 SUV, and Lumin compact EV.
Changan previously said that by 2025, the brand's product portfolio will feature 10 models sold globally.
