Voyah, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under Dongfeng Motor (HKG: 0489), will launch its new Taishan model in 11 days, aiming to capture a share of China's large SUV market by leveraging extensive Huawei technology.

The Taishan -- Voyah's flagship hybrid SUV -- will be officially launched on November 18, the brand announced today on Weibo.

Voyah began pre-sales for the Taishan on September 26 without disclosing pricing. Customers paying a RMB 2,000 yuan ($280) deposit qualify for a RMB 5,000 yuan discount on the final payment.

Its dimensions are 5,230 mm long, 2,025 mm wide, and 1,817 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm and a curb weight of about 2.8 tons.

The Taishan is another highly anticipated large hybrid SUV in the Chinese market following Zeekr's (NYSE: ZK) 9X launch on September 29.

The model features a 1.5L turbocharged engine delivering 110 kW of maximum power. It incorporates dual motors with peak outputs of 150 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear.

The Taishan comes standard with a 65-kWh ternary lithium battery pack, delivering a CLTC range of 370 kilometers. With a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, its CLTC range extends to 1,400 kilometers.

Voyah is a brand launched by Dongfeng in late 2020, with its first model, the Voyah Free, officially released in China in June 2021.

The brand's current lineup also includes the Zhiyin SUV, Dream MPV (multi-purpose vehicle), and Zhuiguang sedan.

Voyah delivered a record 17,218 vehicles in October, marking a 69.52 percent increase from the 10,157 units delivered in the same month last year and a 13.10 percent rise from September's 15,224 units, according to data released on November 1.
