China NEV retail up 17% year-on-year to 1.4 million in Oct, preliminary CPCA data show

China NEV retail up 17% year-on-year to 1.4 million in Oct, preliminary CPCA data show

In October, China's passenger new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales totaled 1.4 million units, marking a 17 percent year-on-year increase and an 8 percent rise from September, according to preliminary data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Year-to-date, China's cumulative passenger NEV retail sales reached 10.27 million units, up 23 percent year-on-year, according to CPCA.

China's passenger NEV wholesale sales in October totaled 1.614 million units, rising 16 percent year-on-year and 8 percent month-on-month.

Year-to-date, China's cumulative passenger NEV wholesale sales reached 12.06 million units, up 30 percent year-on-year.

In October, China's total passenger vehicle retail sales reached 2.387 million units, up 6 percent year-on-year and up 7 percent month-on-month.

Year-to-date, China's total passenger vehicle retail sales have reached 19.40 million units, a 9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

This indicates that China's NEV retail penetration rate stood at 58.7 percent in October and 53.0 percent year-to-date.

During the first week of October, October 1-8, China's daily average passenger vehicle retail sales were 43,530 units, down 18 percent year-on-year and down 5 percent month-on-month.

In the second week of October, October 9-12, China's daily average passenger vehicle retail sales were 84,508 units, up 7 percent year-on-year and up 38 percent month-on-month.

During the third week of October, October 13-19, China's daily average retail sales of passenger vehicles totaled 63,163 units, down 3 percent year-on-year and down 2 percent month-on-month.

In the fourth week of October, October 20-26, China's daily average retail sales of passenger vehicles totaled 69,271 units, down 9 percent year-on-year and down 22 percent month-on-month.

During the fifth week of October, October 27-31, China's daily average passenger vehicle retail sales were 154,796 units, a 47 percent increase year-on-year and a 10 percent rise compared to the same period last month.

China's total passenger vehicle wholesale sales for October reached 2.922 million units, up 7 percent year-on-year and up 4 percent month-on-month.

From October 1-8, China's average daily passenger vehicle wholesale sales were 30,065 units, down 21 percent year-on-year and down 36 percent month-on-month.

From October 9-12, China's daily average wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 76,306 units, down 1 percent year-on-year while up 15 percent compared to the same period last month.

From October 13-19, China's daily average wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 87,011 units, up 1 percent year-on-year and up 18 percent compared to the same period last month.

From October 20-26, China's daily average wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 102,317 units, an 8 percent increase year-on-year but a 12 percent decrease compared to the same period last month.

From October 27-31, China's daily average wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 210,099 units, a 24 percent increase year-on-year and a 1 percent increase compared to the same period last month.

Year-to-date, China's passenger vehicle wholesale sales reached 23.77 million units, a 12 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

This represents a 16 percent year-on-year increase and a 7 percent rise from September.
