Three consecutive weeks of weekly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units propelled Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) to a new monthly delivery record.
Nio Inc's weekly sales continued to surpass 10,000 units last week, with the Nio main brand accounting for over 4,000 units, Onvo contributing 4,500 units, and Firefly reaching 1,600 units, according to automotive blogger Sun Shaojun's Weibo post today.
The blogger did not elaborate, though these figures are apparently based on insurance registrations.
This implies Nio Inc's insurance registrations reached about 10,100 units for the week ending November 2. The figures for the preceding two weeks were 10,500 and 10,300 units respectively.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 40,397 vehicles in October, surpassing the 40,000-unit mark for the first time and marking its third consecutive month of record deliveries, according to data released on November 1.
This represents a 92.59 percent increase from the 20,976 units delivered in the same month last year and a 16.25 percent rise from September's 34,749 units.
All three brands under the company's umbrella saw growth in October. The Nio main brand delivered 17,143 vehicles in October, a 2.92 percent year-on-year increase, reversing five consecutive months of year-on-year declines.
Onvo delivered 17,342 vehicles in October, surpassing its previous record of 16,434 units in August to set a new high. Firefly delivered 5,912 vehicles in October, marking its third consecutive month of record-breaking performance.
Weekly insurance registration figures were widely shared every Tuesday over the past several years. Since last month, these data have become nearly unavailable, with only a few bloggers mentioning figures for select companies.
Nio's strong performance was primarily driven by two large electric SUVs (sport utility vehicles): the Onvo L90 and the third-generation Nio ES8.
The Onvo L90 delivered a record 11,776 units in October, marking its third consecutive month exceeding 10,000 deliveries.
Delivery figures for the third-generation Nio ES8 in October are not yet available. It reached its 10,000th delivery on October 31, just 40 days after its market launch.
Additionally, Nio announced today that it will sponsor the China International Import Expo for the third consecutive year.
The expo commences tomorrow in Shanghai, with the Nio ET9, Nio ES8, Nio ES6, and Onvo L90 designated as official vehicles.
Nio's roadside service team will handle transportation support for foreign guests, including business receptions and core guest commutes.
