Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has seen its 10,000th next-generation P7 roll off the production line, about one month after the electric sedan's launch.
The company shared this development on Weibo today. Delivery of the 10,000th next-generation P7 is expected within days, factoring in logistics and other considerations.
Xpeng launched the next-generation P7 on August 27, introducing significant updates to its flagship electric sedan. These include a redesigned exterior, upgraded powertrain, and new smart driving chips.
Shortly after the launch event, Xpeng announced over 10,000 firm orders for the next-generation P7 within the first seven minutes.
Xpeng offers four variants of the new-generation P7, priced starting at RMB 219,800 ($30,860), RMB 239,800, RMB 259,800, and RMB 301,800.
The new-generation P7 measures 5,017 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,427 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,008 mm.
Built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, it features a battery pack supporting 5C charging rate, enabling a 525-kilometer range after just 10 minutes of charging.
The model offers three range options: 702 kilometers, 750 kilometers, and 820 kilometers.
Xpeng delivered 37,709 vehicles in August, marking its second consecutive record-breaking month. This represents a 168.66 percent increase from the 14,036 units delivered in the same month last year and a 2.70 percent rise from July's 36,717 deliveries.
From January to August, Xpeng delivered 271,615 vehicles, reflecting a 251.79 percent year-on-year growth.
The company aims to double its 2024 delivery volume of 190,068 units to about 380,000 units by 2025.
In a research note earlier this week, Deutsche Bank projected Xpeng's September deliveries at around 40,000 units -- a 6 percent month-on-month increase and a new monthly high.
Domestic retail deliveries are expected to account for about 37,000 units, while overseas deliveries totaled around 3,000 units, the bank said.
Based on dealer feedback, Xpeng is expected to have received about 45,000 new orders in September, a 13 percent month-on-month decline, Deutsche Bank noted, attributing this to reduced new order flow for the G7 SUV and the new-generation P7 sedan.
