Deepal, the new energy vehicle (NEV) unit of Changan Automobile (SHE: 000625), has launched the updated S07 mid-size SUV equipped with Huawei's smart driving system.
The unit officially rolled out the updated S07 today, continuing to offer battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
The five-seat SUV offers two BEV variants with starting guide prices of RMB 156,900 ($22,060) and RMB 166,900.
Three EREV variants are available with starting prices of RMB 156,900, RMB 166,900, and RMB 173,900.
This represents a RMB 7,000 increase, or 4.67 percent, over the previous generation's starting price of RMB 149,900.
The mid-size SUV measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm -- unchanged from its predecessor.
Its BEV variants come standard with a rear motor delivering 200 kW (268 horsepower) and 290 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.
They feature a 68.82-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 550 kilometers.
The updated S07 EREV comes standard with a 1.5-liter engine serving as a range-extender, achieving an average thermal efficiency of 44.39 percent. The engine generates 3.7 kWh of electricity per liter of gasoline, according to Deepal.
Its powertrain delivers a maximum power output of 190 kW, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 or 7.6 seconds.
The EREV variants feature LFP batteries with capacities of 31.73 kWh and 39.05 kWh, delivering pure electric ranges of 230 km and 300 km respectively under CLTC standards. With a full tank and fully charged battery, the combined range reaches 1,320 km and 1,385 km.
A key selling point is the standard Huawei Qiankun ADS SE smart driving assistance system, the entry-level tier within Huawei's Qiankun smart driving portfolio.
The Huawei Qiankun smart driving system comprises multiple tiers: ADS SE, ADS Pro, ADS Max, and ADS Ultra.
Deepal is Changan's NEV brand launched in 2022, with its first model SL03 officially launched on July 25, 2022, positioning as a Tesla Model 3 competitor.
Its current lineup also includes the S05 SUV, L07 sedan, SL03 sedan, and G318 SUV.
