Nio shares traded normally on the Hong Kong stock exchange today, closing down 2.26 percent at 4:00 pm local time. Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore share the same time zone.

Shanghai-based Nio was listed in Singapore on May 20, 2022, and remains the only Chinese automaker listed simultaneously in the US, China, and Singapore.

The company's listing in Singapore followed a similar approach to its Hong Kong listing, also through an introduction. Its class A ordinary shares were listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange.

There are currently no clues about what announcement Nio will make. The company will officially launch its third-generation ES8 SUV (sport utility vehicle) at the Nio Day 2025 event on September 20, and began allowing customers in China to test drive the model starting today.

Last month, Nio announced plans to enter Singapore in 2026, further expanding its global footprint.

In Singapore, Nio will partner with automotive retailer Wearnes Automotive, established in 1906, which represents and retails multiple premium and luxury brands.

Starting in 2026, the two parties will launch the compact premium EV Firefly in Singapore, marking the debut of Nio's first right-hand drive model, according to a statement.

The first models to be launched in these new markets will include vehicles from the Nio, Onvo, and Firefly brands.
