- Dreame's founder led his team to Germany this week to scout factory locations for vehicle production.
- Dreame's inaugural model will be an ultra-luxury pure-electric vehicle benchmarked against the Bugatti Veyron, slated for a 2027 debut.
Dreame Technology, a Chinese brand known for its robot vacuum cleaners, announced it will showcase a prototype of its first vehicle at the next CES in the US, following its official entry into the automotive sector late last month.
Company founder and CEO Yu Hao shared three renderings of Dreame's debut model on his WeChat status today, revealing a design similar to a Bugatti.
The prototype will debut at the upcoming CES in the United States, Yu stated.
On September 8, Yu led his team to Germany to scout factory locations for vehicle production, according to Dreame's press release today.
Dreame is considering Brandenburg as the site for its automotive manufacturing plant, which would enable it to leverage the region's mature local supply chain for critical automotive components, significantly shorten R&D cycles, and reduce logistics costs, the company said.
On September 9, Dreame held discussions with authorities in Berlin regarding local investment opportunities, it said.
Dreame formally announced its entry into the automotive manufacturing sector on August 28, marking a rare new entrant amid China's tightening of vehicle production qualifications in recent years.
Dreame's first model will be an ultra-luxury pure-electric vehicle benchmarked against the Bugatti Veyron, slated for unveiling in 2027, according to a statement at the time.
Its inaugural model will integrate its deep technical expertise with a departure from traditional luxury vehicles. It will feature AI-driven design emphasizing dynamism and scalability, pioneering smart interactions to elevate the user experience.
Currently, Dreame has assembled an automotive team of nearly 1,000 personnel and continues to expand, the company emphasized.
Founded in December 2017, Dreame is headquartered in Suzhou, Jiangsu -- a neighboring city to Shanghai.
Its product portfolio spans robotic vacuum cleaners, cordless vacuum cleaners, smart floor scrubbers, high-speed hair dryers, and robotic lawn mowers, with sales reaching over 120 countries and regions, according to its website.
