Geely Galaxy has begun teasing its Starshine 6 hybrid sedan, signaling a potential imminent launch.
The Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) sub-brand today released the first official photos of the Starshine 6 on Weibo, declaring the model "born to be disruptive."
Geely Galaxy provided no further details about the Starshine 6. Its price is expected to fall below the discounted starting price of RMB 115,800 ($16,190) for the larger Starshine 8 hybrid sedan launched in May.
A previous regulatory filing indicates the Starshine 6 measures 4,806 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,490 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,756 mm.
The model is powered by a 1.5L engine delivering a maximum power output of 82 kW. It supports a top speed of 180 km/h.
The Starshine 6 utilizes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Chinese battery manufacturers CALB and Rept Battero Energy.
The Starshine 6 is one of several new models launched intensively by Geely Galaxy, as the brand has seen robust growth over the past year.
In the past month alone, Geely Galaxy launched the updated E5 electric SUV and the A7 hybrid sedan.
On August 23, Geely Galaxy commenced pre-sales for the M9 hybrid SUV, starting at just RMB 193,800, one of the most affordable large SUVs in the Chinese market.
Originally a new product lineup launched on February 23, 2023, Geely Galaxy was elevated to a standalone brand on March 3 this year.
Geely Galaxy sold 643,451 vehicles in the first seven months of this year, marking a 253.77 percent year-on-year increase, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
