Changan Automobile (SHE: 000625) sub-brand Deepal has unveiled the 2026 model year L07 midsize sedan equipped with Huawei's smart driving system and offering competitive pricing.
Deepal officially rolled out the updated L07 at an event held yesterday, continuing to offer battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
The sedan has four BEV variants with guide prices starting at RMB 145,900 ($20,350), RMB 155,900, RMB 155,900, and RMB 165,900.
The model offers two EREV variants with guide prices starting at RMB 145,900 and RMB 155,900.
Deepal is offering a discount of RMB 10,000 to customers who purchase any variant of the model before August 31.
The five-seat sedan has a length, width, and height of 4,875 mm, 1,890 mm, and 1,480 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
The BEV variants come standard with a rear motor with a maximum power of 200 kW (272 hp) and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.
The model offers lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries with capacities of 56.12 kWh and 68.82 kWh, with a CLTC pure electric range of 550 km or 660 km.
The updated L07 EREV comes standard with a 1.5 L engine as a range extender, with a maximum power output of 70 kW, and is available only in rear-wheel drive.
The engine has an average thermal efficiency of 44.39 percent, generating 3.7 kWh of electricity per liter of gasoline, according to Deepal.
The electric motor has a maximum power output of 175 kW and can allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.
Both EREV variants are equipped with a 28.39 kWh LFP battery pack, with a CLTC pure electric range of 240 km and a combined range of over 1,500 km when fully fueled and charged.
One of the main selling points of the vehicle is that it comes standard with Huawei's Qiankun ADS SE smart driving assistance system, which Deepal claims is the lowest-priced vehicle to come standard with the Huawei system.
The Huawei Qiankun smart driving system has several branches, including ADS SE, ADS Pro, ADS Max, and ADS Ultra, of which ADS SE is the entry-level version.
Earlier this week, Huawei announced that its Qiankun ADS have been installed in more than one million vehicles.
Deepal is Changan's new energy vehicle (NEV) brand unveiled in 2022, with its first model, the SL03, officially launched on July 25, 2022, as a competitor to the Tesla Model 3.
Its current lineup includes the S05 SUV, S07 SUV, SL03 sedan, and G318 SUV.
