- The updated Aito M7 will feature a larger size and will add BEV variants to the existing EREV variants.
- The currently available Aito M7 is priced from RMB 249,800 ($34,740) to RMB 329,800.

Aito, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Seres Group, will officially launch the updated M7 SUV (sport utility vehicle) in September.
Aito announced the plan on its social media accounts today and shared more images and specifications of the updated M7.
The updated SUV has larger dimensions, measuring 5,080 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm.
For comparison, the currently available Aito M7 measures 5,020 mm in length, 1,945 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
It will offer battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, both of which will be released at the same time, Aito said today.
It is worth noting that the currently available Aito M7 only offers EREV variants, while Aito's other models -- the Aito M5 and Aito M9 -- offer both EREV and BEV variants.
The updated Aito M7 will offer five-seat and six-seat seating layout options.
It will come standard with batteries supplied by CATL (SHE: 300750), with the EREV variants offering battery pack capacities of 37 kWh and 53 kWh, achieving a combined range of over 1,600 kilometers when fully charged and fueled.
The BEV variants are equipped with 100 kWh battery packs, offering a range exceeding 700 kilometers. They will also feature Huawei's high-voltage electric drive platform, which offers a smaller size, lower weight, higher efficiency, and lower noise levels, according to Aito.
The updated Aito M7 is equipped with Huawei's ADS 4 smart driving system, featuring sensors including a roof-mounted 192-channel LiDAR with a detection range of 250 meters.
The vehicle also features a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR to enhance rear obstacle detection capabilities. It also has 12 ultrasonic radars and 11 cameras.
The Aito M7 was first launched on July 4, 2022. On September 12, 2023, Huawei launched an updated version of the M7 at one of its product events.
On May 31, 2024, Aito launched the M7 Ultra and introduced the Pro series of the SUV in August.
Currently, the model is available in eight versions, with a starting price range of RMB 249,800 ($34,740) to RMB 329,800.
The updated Aito M7 entered the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's regulatory filing directory last week, paving the way for its launch.
