- The production line for the L90 is operating around the clock, with delivery efforts being accelerated, said Onvo's president.
- The Onvo L90 is one of the few models under Nio Inc's umbrella to face production capacity shortages in recent years.
Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) holds high hopes for its sub-brand Onvo's flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle) model L90, and the vehicle is demonstrating strong momentum.
Onvo president Shen Fei shared a video on Weibo today showing Nio's factory operating around the clock to ship L90 vehicles.
"This is an incredibly inspiring video... The assembly lines are running around the clock, trucks are heading out in all directions, and we are accelerating deliveries," Shen wrote.
Shen's remarks indicate that the L90 production line is operating on two or three shifts to make up for initial production shortages.

Onvo officially launched the L90 on July 31 and began deliveries of the SUV the following day on August 1.
Onvo produced a large number of vehicles in advance for the L90, laying the foundation for rapid delivery.
The brand delivered 1,976 units of the L90 within the first 72 hours of deliveries, making it the third-best-selling large SUV in China during the week of July 28 to August 3, according to a report by local media outlet Yiche yesterday.
The model is one of the few under Nio Inc's umbrella to face production shortages in recent years.
Onvo is continuing to accelerate production and delivery of the L90, with its Hefei factory operating at full capacity and working overtime, Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li said yesterday.
The Onvo L90 has a starting price of RMB 265,800 ($36,860) including the battery pack, which is considered competitive.
Nio has achieved better body lightweighting and higher integration in the manufacturing of the model, resulting in improved energy efficiency and the largest frunk ever seen on an EV.
In contrast, Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) faced poor initial reception for its six-seat electric SUV, the Li i8, launched on July 29, prompting the company to relaunch the model and lower its price just one week after its rollout.
Shen is seen as one of the key executives behind the success of the L90. He replaced Alan Ai as president of Onvo in April, following the disappointing performance of the brand's first model, the L60 midsize SUV.
In a report yesterday by 21jingji, Shen was hailed as Nio's "Wang Fengying," playing an important role in turning the company around.
Wang was the former president of Great Wall Motor and was appointed president of Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) in January 2023, leading the company out of a prolonged sales slump.
