China's new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales continued to weaken last week.
From July 1 to 27, China's passenger NEV retail sales came in at 789,000 units, up 15 percent year-on-year, but down 17 percent month-on-month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
For reference, from July 1 to 20, China's passenger NEV retail sales were 537,000, up 23 percent year-on-year, while down 12 percent month-on-month.
So far this year, China's cumulative passenger NEV retail sales were 6.258 million, up 31 percent year-on-year.
Wholesale sales of passenger NEVs from July 1 to 27 were 816,000 units, up 17 percent year-on-year, but down 20 percent month-on-month, according to the CPCA.
So far this year, cumulative wholesale sales of Chinese passenger NEVs have reached 7.264 million units, up 35 percent year-on-year.
From July 1 to 27, China's total retail sales of passenger vehicles totaled 1.445 million units, up 9 percent year-on-year, but down 19 percent month-on-month.

In the second week of July, July 7-13, the average daily retail sales of passenger vehicles in China were 47,548, up 11 percent year-on-year, but down 4 percent compared to the same period last month.
In the third week of July, July 14-20, the average daily retail sales of passenger vehicles in China were 58,207, up 17 percent year-on-year, but down 20 percent compared to the same period last month.
In the fourth week of July, July 21–27, China's daily retail sales of passenger vehicles averaged 66,611 units, up 5 percent year-on-year but down 30 percent compared to the same period last month.
From July 1 to 27, China's total wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 1.505 million units, up 17 percent year-on-year, but down 25 percent month-on-month.
From July 1 to 6, China's daily average wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 38,757 units, up 39 percent year-on-year, flat month-on-month.
From July 7 to 13, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 46,085, up 31 percent year-on-year, but down 12 percent compared with the same period last month.
From July 14 to 20, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 57,826, up 8 percent year-on-year, but down 17 percent compared with the same period last month.
From July 21 to 27, China's daily wholesale sales of passenger vehicles were 77,867, up 10 percent year-on-year, but down 41 percent compared to the same period last month.
So far this year, China's wholesale sales of passenger vehicles have reached 14.785 million units, up 13 percent compared to the same period last year.
