The Onvo L90 launch event will begin at 7:30 pm Beijing time on July 31, the Nio (NYSE: NIO) sub-brand announced today.
Onvo has prepared a detailed guide to help potential customers prepare for ordering the L90.
Onvo will begin accepting customer lock-in orders for the L90 following the launch event on July 31.
The Nio sub-brand began pre-sales for the L90 on July 10, marking its second model after the L60, with deliveries scheduled to begin on August 1.
The L90 has a pre-sales starting price of RMB 279,900 ($39,000) including an 85-kWh battery pack. Under the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental plan, the pre-sales starting price is RMB 193,900.
It is worth noting that the L90's price is expected to be further reduced upon its official launch, a common strategy in China's EV industry.
The L90 will offer six-seat and seven-seat options to cater to a wider range of customer needs, with the six-seat version available first.
Onvo plans to launch a new model, the L80, in the fourth quarter, which a regulatory filing indicated will be a five-seat version of the L90.
The brand began allowing Chinese customers to test drive the L90 on July 23, with nearly 600 vehicles available for test drives at Onvo's more than 400 showrooms covering 140 cities.
The L90 has attracted many visitors to Onvo stores, with images shared by Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li this month showing large crowds of visitors viewing the SUV at stores over the weekends.
Onvo is also making unprecedented efforts to prepare for L90 production, having already shipped many vehicles from its Hefei factory to stores.
The L90's pre-sales have sparked optimism among investors, with Nio's shares traded on the US stock market rising by about 40 percent since the SUV's pre-sales.
