Li Auto donates $1.4 million for flood relief in Beijing

Li Auto will hold the launch event for its first all-electric SUV, the Li i8, in Beijing later today.

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) announced today that it has donated RMB 10 million ($1.4 million) to the Beijing Charity Association to support relief efforts in areas affected by severe flooding.

In recent days, eastern, northern, and northeastern China have been hit by prolonged heavy rainfall, triggering floods and geological disasters. Among these, Beijing has suffered severe damage from extreme rainfall, with significant losses in the northern mountainous areas, the company says in a Weibo post.

According to a report by Xinhua News Agency earlier today, as of midnight on July 28, the heavy rainfall in Beijing had resulted in 30 deaths.

Li Auto will hold the launch event for its first all-electric SUV (sport utility vehicle), the Li i8, later today in Beijing, the city where its headquarters is located.
