China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the latest catalog of models set to be approved for sale yesterday for public comment, with the Geely Galaxy Starshine 6 included.
The public can submit feedback from July 17 to 23. Inclusion in this catalog is the final major regulatory step for a vehicle to be permitted for sale in China.
The Starshine 6 is listed on two pages in the catalog, with product models HQ7151DCHEV100 and HQ7151DCHEV101.
The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) has dimensions of 4,806 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,756 mm.
Its curb weight is 1,505/1,580 kilograms, and it supports a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour.
The Starshine 6 is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with a maximum power output of 82 kW.
It uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries supplied by Chinese battery manufacturers CALB and Rept Battero Energy.
The Starshine 6 will be produced at Geely's factory in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, according to the filing information.
Geely Galaxy's product lineup includes another hybrid sedan, the Starshine 8, with dimensions of 5,018 mm in length, 1,918 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,928 mm.
The smaller dimensions of the Starshine 6 suggest its official guidance price is likely to be lower than the Starshine 8's range of RMB 125,800 ($17,520) to RMB 165,800.
