China NEV retail at 332,000 in Jul 1-13, up 26% year-on-year

China's new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales continued to grow in the first half of July, accounting for nearly 60 percent of all passenger vehicle sales.

From July 1 to 13, China's passenger NEV retail sales reached 332,000 units, up 26 percent year-on-year, despite a 4 percent decline from the same period last month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Year-to-date, China's cumulative retail sales of passenger NEVs reached 5.8 million units, up 33 percent year-on-year.

Wholesale sales of passenger NEVs from July 1 to 13 reached 316,000 units, up 37 percent year-on-year and up 1 percent month-on-month, according to the CPCA.

Year-to-date, China's cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs reached 6.76 million units, up 37 percent year-on-year.

From July 1 to 13, China's total retail sales of all passenger vehicles reached 571,000 units, up 7 percent year-on-year but down 5 percent compared to the same period last month.

Year-to-date, China's cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles reached 11.47 million units, up 11 percent year-on-year.

This means that the penetration rate of NEVs in retail sales was 58.14 percent from July 1 to 13, and 50.56 percent year-to-date.

In the first week of July, July 1 to 6, the average daily retail sales of passenger vehicles in China were 39,660 units, up 1 percent year-on-year but down 6 percent compared to the same period last month.

In the second week of July, July 7-13, the average daily retail sales of passenger vehicles in China were 47,548 units, up 11 percent year-on-year but down 4 percent compared to the same period last month.

From July 1 to 13, the wholesale sales of all passenger vehicles in China were 555,000 units, up 34 percent year-on-year but down 7 percent compared to the same period last month.

From July 1 to 6, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 38,757 units, up 39 percent year-on-year, and flat from the same period last month.

From July 7 to 13, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 46,085 units, up 31 percent year-on-year, but down 12 percent from the same period last month.

Year-to-date, China's passenger vehicle wholesale sales reached 13.84 million units, up 13 percent year-on-year.

Nio Inc, including the Nio, Onvo, and Firefly brands, saw 4,100 insurance registrations in China last week, down 19.77 percent from 5,110 the previous week.
