Xiaomi EV has shared a glimpse of the interior of the YU7, with the much-anticipated SUV (sport utility vehicle) model set to be officially unveiled tomorrow.
The YU7's front center screen is a large, horizontal display like the one seen on Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y, which is the current choice for mainstream EVs.
Most noticeable is a long screen below the windshield that runs the entire length of the first row, according to a Weibo post by Xiaomi EV.
Xiaomi EV named it Xiaomi HyperVision, calling it a more intuitive visual interaction system.
"It's a skyline view that breaks through the imagination," Xiaomi EV wrote on Weibo.
Additionally, the YU7 appears to have a very small screen underneath the steering wheel, similar to the one found on Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) vehicles.
Xiaomi announced on Monday that the YU7 would be unveiled at Xiaomi's strategic new product launch event on May 22 starting at 7 pm Beijing time.
Earlier today, Xiaomi EV said the YU7 is positioned as a luxury performance SUV.
Those who love to drive and want a large space and advanced luxury experience will especially love the YU7, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO, said in a Weibo post today.
The YU7 is Xiaomi's second model after the SU7 sedan and has the potential to reshape the electric SUV market in China. The current leader in that market is Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y.
The YU7 measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, according to its regulatory filing.
For comparison, the updated Model Y has a length, width and height of 4,797 mm, 1,920 mm, 1,624 mm and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.
