Maextro, the new automotive brand jointly created by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), will launch its first model, the Maextro S800, on May 30, after pre-sales of the luxury sedan began last November.

The Maextro S800 will redefine the flagship imagination with technology, HIMA wrote on Weibo.
Maextro is the fourth new brand Huawei has built with a local car company and is the most highly positioned under Huawei's HIMA umbrella.
The other three previous brands under the HIMA business were Stelato, which Huawei jointly built with BAIC Group, Aito, which it created with Seres Group, and Luxeed, which it created with Chery.
On April 16, Huawei unveiled SAIC Shangjie, a new automotive brand built with SAIC Motor (SHA: 600104), the fifth automotive brand under the HIMA umbrella.
Huawei unveiled the Maextro S800 on November 26, 2024, and started accepting pre-orders. The model is expected to be priced at RMB 1 million ($138,650) to RMB 1.5 million, the tech giant said at the time.
The model would be the first to be built on Huawei's second-generation Tuling Intelligent Chassis system and is designed according to the L3 smart driving architecture, Huawei previously said.
The Maextro S800 measures 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width and 1,536 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm, according to its regulatory filing.
The model will be available in extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options, both with dual-motor tri-motor versions.
The Maextro S800 will be one of the few luxury sedans to be launched by a local Chinese brand, in a market dominated by German luxury automakers.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) launched the ET9 on Nio Day 2024 on December 21, 2024, with the executive sedan starting at RMB 788,000, one of the local luxury models.
Yangwang, the ultra-luxury sub-brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), launched the U7 sedan on March 27 with a starting price of RMB 628,000, another launch by a local automaker targeting the luxury car market.
