Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) saw a slight rebound in deliveries last month compared to February, with deliveries from both the Nio main brand and sub-brand recovering.

The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 15,039 vehicles in March, up 26.74 percent from 11,866 in the same month last year and up 14 percent from 13,192 in February, according to data it released today.

The Nio main brand delivered 10,219 vehicles in March, a decrease of 13.88 percent compared to 11,866 vehicles in the same period last year, while an increase of 11.77 percent compared to 9,143 vehicles in February.

The Onvo sub-brand delivered 4,820 vehicles in March, an increase of 19.04 percent compared to 4,049 vehicles in February.

Onvo officially launched its first model, the L60, on September 19, 2024, and began delivering the electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) on September 28.

Nio Inc delivered 42,094 vehicles in the first quarter, within the guidance range of 41,000 to 43,000 vehicles.

This represents an increase of 40.07 percent compared to the 30,053 vehicles delivered in the same period last year, but a decrease of 42.09 percent compared to the 72,689 vehicles delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The Nio main brand delivered 27,313 vehicles in the first quarter, a decrease of 9.12 percent compared to the 30,053 vehicles delivered in the same period last year and a decrease of 48.23 percent compared to the fourth quarter.

Onvo delivered 14,781 vehicles in the first quarter, a decrease of 25.83 percent compared to 19,929 in the fourth quarter.

As of the end of March, Nio Inc's cumulative deliveries since inception were 713,658, including 678,116 for the Nio brand and 35,542 for Onvo.

The Nio brand currently has nine models -- the ET9, ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5 and ET5 Touring.

The ET9 -- Nio's executive flagship sedan -- was officially launched on Nio Day 2024 on December 21, 2024, with the first deliveries starting at the end of March.

From the second quarter to the fourth quarter, Nio Inc would have new product launches in each quarter, the company's founder, chairman and CEO William Li said in a live video on the short video platform Douyin on February 8.

Nio's main models -- the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6 and EC6 -- would get facelifts, and their exteriors would see minor changes and interiors will be updated, Li said at the time.

The facelifted models will use a horizontally mounted center screen instead of the previous vertical one, and will use Nio's in-house developed Shenji autonomous driving chip, Li said.

On February 19, a regulatory filing showed that Nio had filed for updated versions of the ES6, EC6, ET5, and ET5 Touring.

Onvo would debut its second model, the L90, in April and would begin its deliveries in the third quarter, Nio management said during an earnings call on March 21.

Onvo also has a new model in the second half of the year, according to the company's management.

In addition, Nio's third brand, Firefly, will officially launch its first model on April 19.

Firefly's first model, which shares the sub-brand's name, is positioned as a high-end boutique car.

Pre-orders for the compact battery electric vehicle (BEV) began in China on Nio Day 2024, with a price of RMB 148,800 ($20,500).
