The electric vehicle (EV) maker, based in Guangzhou, Guangdong, announced on August 9, 2024, that the first production vehicles of the Mona M03 rolled off the production line.

About 20 days later, on August 27, 2024, Xpeng officially launched the electric sedan, with a starting price of RMB 119,800 yuan ($16,520), half of 's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3.

The first deliveries of the Mona M03 began on August 30, 2024, when Xpeng said it had received more than 30,000 orders for the model 48 hours after its launch.

The Mona M03 has been one of the main factors behind Xpeng's strong delivery performance over the past few months, despite the Chinese auto market being in its slow season at the beginning of the year.

The sedan has delivered more than 15,000 units each month over the past three months, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In January and February, the Mona M03 delivered 30,537 units, contributing 50.22 percent of Xpeng's deliveries of 60,803 over the same period.

The Mona M03 is currently being delivered in an entry-level version with a CLTC range of 515 kilometers and a long-range version with a CLTC range of 620 kilometers, starting at RMB 119,800 and RMB 129,800, respectively.

Xpeng is taking orders for another variant, the Max, with a CLTC range of 580 kilometers, starting at RMB 155,800, but deliveries won't begin until May.
