Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), today began pre-sales of the Tai 3 SUV (sport utility vehicle), the first model in its all-new Tai series and its lowest-priced offering to date.

Fang Cheng Bao is offering five variants of the Tai 3 in pre-sales, starting at RMB 139,800 yuan ($19,270). It will be officially launched and begin deliveries in April.

The five variants include two rear-wheel drive versions with starting prices of RMB 139,800 and RMB 149,800 respectively, and three all-wheel drive versions with starting prices of RMB 163,800, RMB 173,800 and RMB 203,800 respectively.

BYD officially announced the Fang Cheng Bao brand on August 16, 2023, and the brand's first model, the hybrid Bao 5 off-road SUV, was launched on November 9, 2023.

On November 12, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao launched the hybrid Bao 8 SUV, its second model.

The Bao 5 and Bao 8 target the hardcore off-road market, with current starting prices of RMB 239,800 and RMB 379,800, respectively.

On December 10, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao announced its new Tai series product line, which would be its second major product line after the Bao series.

As the first model in the Tai series, the Tai 3 pure electric mid-size SUV targets the family market, which has a larger market space.

Unlike the Bao series models, which use a body-on-frame design for off-road scenarios, the Tai series models would focus on a unibody design that is suitable for family use.

The Tai 3 has five seats, with a length, width and height of 4,605 mm, 1,900 mm and 1,720 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,745 mm.

Its dual-motor variant has a front motor with a maximum power of 110 kW and a rear motor with a maximum power of 200 kW. This powertrain allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.

All variants of the Tai 3 have a range of 501 kilometers, despite the different capacities of the battery packs.

The standard version of the Tai 3 has a 72.96-kWh battery pack, while the most expensive variant, which comes with BYD's Ling Yuan automotive drone system, uses a 78.72-kWh battery pack.

It comes standard with BYD's God's Eye C smart driving system, and the smart driving solution is DiPilot 100.

The model is built on the Evo+ platform and is equipped with an all-terrain system that can handle scenarios including snow, mud, mountains, and sand, Fang Cheng Bao said.

Fang Cheng Bao delivered 11,161 vehicles in January-February, up 48.56 percent year-on-year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

BYD's car sales target for 2025 is 5.5 million units, including more than 800,000 in overseas markets, according to local media.
