- Fang Cheng Bao will start pre-sales of the Tai 3 on March 31, as BYD continues to push forward with intensive new product launches.
- The Tai 3 will be Fang Cheng Bao's first pure electric model and the brand's third model.

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) continues its push for intensive new product launches, as its sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao is about to introduce a new model.
Fang Cheng Bao will start pre-sales for the Tai 3 SUV (sport utility vehicle) on March 31, and a launch event will begin at 7 pm Beijing time that day, it announced on Weibo today.
The brand did not mention more, but shared more pictures of Tai 3, Fang Cheng Bao's first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model, about the exterior and interior.
The images show that the Tai 3 will support the Ling Yuan automotive drone system released by BYD earlier this month.
BYD officially launched the Fang Cheng Bao brand on August 16, 2023, and the brand's first model, the hybrid Bao 5 off-road SUV, was launched on November 9, 2023.
On November 12, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao launched the Bao 8 SUV, its second model and the first model under the BYD umbrella to feature Huawei's driver assistance system.
On April 16, 2024, while unveiling the Bao 8, Fang Cheng Bao announced two concept cars, the Super 3 SUV and the Super 9 supercar.
Two months later, the Bao 3, the production version of the Super 3 SUV, entered a regulatory catalogue in China, paving the way for its launch.
However, Fang Cheng Bao then changed its strategy for the model, making new regulatory filings for it in December 2024 and renaming it the Tai 3.
On December 10, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao announced a new Tai series product line, which would become its second major product line after the Bao series.
Tai literally means titanium. The series would include family-oriented hardcore models, with the first model, the Tai 3 mid-size SUV, to be launched in the first half of 2025, Fang Cheng Bao said at the time.
Unlike the Bao series models, which use a body-on-frame design that is more suitable for off-road scenarios, the Tai series models will focus on a unibody design that is more suitable for family use.
The Tai 3 would be Fang Cheng Bao's first pure electric model and would be built on the brand's dedicated smart EVO platform, it said last month.
The model has solid energy efficiency in low-temperature environments, and can still be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in 28 minutes in extremely cold environments of minus 30 degrees Celsius, according to the brand.
The Tai 3 has five seats, with a length, width and height of 4,605 mm, 1,900 mm and 1,720 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,745 mm, according to its regulatory filing information.
It is equipped with dual motors, with a maximum power of 110 kW for the front motor and 200 kW for the rear motor.
BYD has already launched several new models this month, including the Qin L EV sedan, the Sealion 05 EV SUV, and the N9 SUV from its sub-brand Denza.
Later today, its ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang will officially launch the U7 luxury sedan.
