Lynk & Co today began pre-sales of its flagship hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle), the Lynk & Co 900, in China, aiming at the large SUV market, after unveiling the model in January.
The Lynk & Co 900 is available in four options with pre-sales starting prices of RMB 330,000 ($45,460), RMB 355,000, RMB 385,000 and RMB 435,000 respectively.
Customers who reserve the 6-seater SUV model now can enjoy limited-time benefits. Its official launch will be in late April, Lynk & Co said.
Shortly after the Lynk & Co 900's pre-sales event, Lynk & Co said that the model received more than 8,200 pre-orders in one hour.
The Lynk & Co 900 is Lynk & Co's largest car to date, measuring 5,240 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,810 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,160 mm.
The two lower-priced variants are powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a maximum output of 140 kW, or 190 Ps. They also have dual motors with a peak power of 160 kW in the front and 230 kW in the rear.
The powertrain has a peak power of 530 kW, which allows these two variants to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
The other two variants have a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 187 kW or 254 Ps.
The variant with a starting price of RMB 385,000 yuan is equipped with dual motors, with a peak power of 123 kW for the front motor and 230 kW for the rear motor. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
The most expensive variant has three electric motors and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
The Lynk & Co 900 comes standard with ternary lithium battery packs. The battery pack of the two lower-priced variants has a capacity of 44.85 kWh, and the CLTC battery range is 220 km.
The other two variants are equipped with a 52.38-kWh Freevoy battery from CATL and the CLTC battery range is 280 km and 268 km respectively.
CATL launched the Freevoy battery on October 24, 2024, and at the time said that it had used sodium ion battery technology in the battery, which significantly improved performance in low temperatures.
When fully charged, the Lynk & Co 900 has a combined range of up to 1,443 km.
The model uses a LiDAR on the roof, and the smart driving chip is Nvidia Thor.
It is equipped with Zeekr's (NYSE: ZK) Zeekr G-Pilot H7 smart driving solution, which supports the city NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) function that does not rely on high-definition maps.
The infotainment system in the Lynk & Co 900 is powered by a dual Qualcomm 8295 chips, and the center screen has 6K resolution.
Lynk & Co was born in 2017 and was jointly established by Geely Auto and Volvo Cars.
In November last year, Zeekr announced a series of transactions that would give it a 51 percent stake in Lynk & Co. The transactions were completed in February this year.
The Lynk & Co 900 is expected to compete with the Aito M9, Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI)'s Li L9, and Denza N9 in the large SUV segment, which is becoming increasingly crowded.
Nio's (NYSE: NIO) sub-brand Onvo's second model, the Onvo L90, also targets this market and will be unveiled in the second quarter and officially launched in the third quarter.
