BYD's fleet previously consisted of four vessels -- BYD Explorer No.1, BYD Hefei, BYD Changzhou, and BYD Shenzhen.

BYD Explorer No.1 is the first vessel in BYD's fleet and has a capacity of 7,000 vehicles. The vessel, which entered service in January 2024, was chartered to BYD by another owner.

BYD Hefei is BYD's first car carrier as a shipowner and the first to be named after the city where one of its vehicle production sites is located, with a capacity of 7,000 vehicles.

BYD Hefei completed construction at the end of September 2024 and began its maiden voyage on January 7 of this year, sailing to Europe with about 5,000 NEVs.

BYD Changzhou, launched in October 2024, is the second BYD vessel named after a vehicle production base after BYD Hefei.

The 7,000-vehicle BYD Changzhou went into operation in December 2024, with its maiden voyage carrying 5,000 NEVs to Europe.

BYD Shenzhen, with a capacity of 9,200 vehicles, is the world's largest automotive ro-ro ship and completed its un-docking on January 15.

BYD is the largest NEV maker in China, having sold 4,272,145 NEVs in 2024, including 417,204 in overseas markets.

In January-February this year, BYD sold 133,361 NEVs overseas, up 124.27 percent year-on-year, contributing 21.39 percent of the company's total NEV sales in the same period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
