Companies including Nio (NYSE: NIO), BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) and Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) showcased their models at last year's Shenzhan auto show.

The first Shenzhen auto show was held in 1991 and was the second international auto show to be held in China after the first Beijing auto show in 1990.

The Shenzhen auto show was renamed the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao International Auto Show in 2009, and in 2020 it was renamed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show.

Before this year's Shenzhen auto show, the biennial Shanghai auto show would be held from April 23 to May 2.

In the second half of the year, China also has the annual Chengdu auto show, usually held in August, and the Guangzhou auto show, usually held in November.

The last Shanghai auto show was held in April 18-27, 2023, with 1,413 vehicles on display, including 513 NEVs.
