"We will continue to expand our production capacity and thank you for your support," Xiaomi EV wrote on Weibo.

The SU7 was launched on March 28, 2024, offering three variants -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,640), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900 respectively.

Throughout 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 accumulated over 135,000 deliveries, Xiaomi EV previously said.

By the end of 2024, the SU7 had cumulatively received more than 248,000 locked-in orders in just nine months since its launch, Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO, said at the February 27 launch event for the SU7 Ultra.

The SU7 Ultra is Xiaomi EV's ultra-performance electric sedan based on the regular version of the SU7, with three electric motors capable of delivering 1,548 Ps of maximum horsepower.

The model can sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 1.98 seconds and from 0 to 200 kilometers per hour in 6.09 seconds, and Xiaomi claimed it is the fastest four-door production car on the planet.

The SU7 Ultra starts at a price of RMB 529,900, which is RMB 285,000, or 34.97 percent, below Xiaomi's previously marketed pre-sales price of RMB 814,900.

The ultra-performance sedan garnered more than 10,000 orders in the first 2 hours of sales, reaching Xiaomi's previously announced sales target of 10,000 units for this year.

Late last night, Xiaomi EV said that the number of orders for the SU7 had exceeded 15,000 units.

Deliveries of the SU7 Ultra are set to begin at 10 am Beijing time on March 2, Xiaomi EV said yesterday.

On March 3, Xiaomi will give the SU7 Ultra its overseas debut at the MWC 2025 event in Barcelona, Spain.

In addition to the SU7 and SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi is expected to launch the YU7 electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) in June or July.
