Voyah, Dongfeng Motor's premium electric vehicle (EV) unit, said last night it had accumulated orders for more than 65,000 units of its updated Dream MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
For every three premium MPVs sold in China, there is one Voyah Dream, it wrote on Weibo.
The Voyah Dream sells for an average of more than RMB 390,000 ($53,810) per car, its poster shows.
Voyah launched the updated Dream MPV on September 19, 2024, offering eight variants, including four plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants and four battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.
The starting prices of the four PHEV variants are RMB 329,900, RMB 359,900, RMB 399,900 and RMB 429,900 respectively.
The starting prices of the four BEVs are RMB 349,900, RMB 379,900, RMB 419,900, and RMB 449,900 respectively.
Voyah cites Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 smart driving software and the HarmonyOS cockpit system as the Dream MPV's main selling points, although only the highest-priced PHEV variant and the BEV variant were equipped with Huawei's solutions.
On February 19, Voyah added four variants to the Dream MPV, including two PHEV variants and two BEV variants, with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 and the HarmonyOS cockpit system as standard.
The two new PHEV variants start at RMB 359,900 and RMB 389,900, while the BEV variants start at RMB 379,900 and RMB 409,900, respectively.
The addition of the new variants means that the purchase threshold for the Dream MPV with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 has been lowered by RMB 70,000 compared to previously.
The hardware of the Qiankun ADS 3.0 includes a 192-channel LiDAR with a detection range of 250 meters. The system supports pilot-assisted driving from one parking space to another.
