Xiaomi EV, the car-making arm of Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY), today announced that the SU7 Ultra will be officially launched on February 27, with an event set to begin at 7 pm Beijing time on the same day.
The SU7 Ultra -- the ultra-performance variant of Xiaomi's first electric model, the SU7 -- was unveiled on October 29 last year and went on pre-sales for RMB 814,900 ($112,420).
At the February 27 launch event, Xiaomi will also launch the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone, according to a Weibo posted by the company today.
These are the two most high-end products in Xiaomi's fifteen years of existence, the company's founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun wrote in the Weibo.
"Ultra, is the ultimate pursuit and pure aspiration. It is the answer piece to Xiaomi's high-end exploration in the last five years, and the beginning of Xiaomi's march towards the ultra-high-end," Lei said.
"The two Ultra (products) this time will be the beginning of a whole new era," he wrote in Chinese.
The SU7, Xiaomi's first model, was officially launched on March 28, 2024 and delivered more than 135,000 vehicles throughout last year.
The SU7 Ultra is priced at about four times the regular SU7's starting price of RMB 215,900.
The ultra-performance variant garnered 3,680 pre-orders 10 minutes after the pre-sales began on October 29 last year, Xiaomi EV announced on Weibo at the time.
Xiaomi's sales target for the SU7 Ultra this year is 10,000 units, Lei said on February 5.
The company's EV sales target for the full year 2025 is 300,000 vehicles, Xiaomi previously said.
In addition to the SU7 and SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi is expected to launch the YU7 electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) in June or July.
