Avatr Technology, the electric vehicle (EV) subsidiary of Changan Automobile (SHE: 200625), has launched the Avatr 11 and Avatr12 in Qatar, expanding its presence in the Middle East, according to a report in local automotive media Yiche today.
Qatar is the second strategic market Avatr has explored since entering the Middle East and has far-reaching implications for deepening the brand's presence in the region, the brief report said.
Avatr announced on August 21, 2024 that it had signed a deal with local dealer Alattiya to expand into the Qatar market.
The Avatr 11 SUV (sport utility vehicle), Avatr's first model, was initially launched on August 8, 2022 in China.
The SUV currently has a starting price range of RMB 279,900 ($38,670) to RMB 429,900 in China and is available in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
The Avatr 12 sedan, launched in China on November 10, 2023, is also available in BEV and EREV variants, with a current starting price range of RMB 269,900 to RMB 429,900.
