- Voyah has added four variants to the Dream MPV that come standard with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 smart driving software and the HarmonyOS cockpit system.
- These new variants lower the barrier to purchase for the Dream MPV with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 by RMB 70,000.
Voyah, Dongfeng Motor's premium new energy-vehicle (NEV) arm, today added new variants of the Dream MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) with Huawei's smart driving software, in a bid to cater to potential consumers' preference for advanced driving capabilities.
Voyah has added four variants to the Dream MPV, including two plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants and two battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants, which come standard with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 smart driving software and the HarmonyOS cockpit system.
Starting prices for the two PHEV variants are RMB 359,900 ($49,400) and RMB 389,900, while the BEV variants start at RMB 379,900 and RMB 409,900, respectively.
Huawei is seen as one of the most capable players in the smart driving space, and in April 2024, it released Qiankun ADS 3.0, which enables advanced smart driving features including urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot).
Qiankun ADS 3.0 was first used in the Stelato S9, an electric sedan built by Huawei in collaboration with Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), which was launched on August 6, 2024.
Voyah is a brand announced by Dongfeng at the end of 2020, with the first model, the Voyah Free, officially launched in June 2021 in China.
The Dream MPV was launched in China on May 7, 2022, as the second model of Voyah. On September 20 last year, Voyah launched an updated version of the Dream MPV, which began to carry the Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 system.
On April 18, 2023, Voyah's third model, the Zhuiguang sedan, was launched, and on October 13, 2024, Voyah launched its fourth model, the Zhiyin, called the Courage in overseas markets, a Tesla Model Y competitor.
The Dream MPV was previously offered in eight variants, including four PHEV variants and four BEV variants, but only the highest priced PHEV and EV variants are equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 and the HarmonyOS cockpit system.
Today's additions mean that the Dream MPV with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 has a RMB 70,000 lower barrier to purchase than before.
The Qiankun ADS 3.0 hardware includes a 192-channel LiDAR with a detection range of 250 meters. The system supports pilot-assisted driving from one parking space to another.
The Dream MPV measures 5,315 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,200 mm.
The model is a seven-seater with a "2+2+3" seating layout.
Voyah delivered 85,697 vehicles in 2024, up 69.52 percent year-on-year, according to its previously announced figures. This is below its full-year target of 100,000 vehicles announced on January 23, 2024.
Voyah was aiming to sell 200,000 vehicles in 2025, its CEO Lu Fang in an internal letter on January 1.
