- The Denza N7 gets more streamlined version options, standard with the God's Eye B smart driving system.
- The SUV is a Tesla Model Y competitor, but has performed lukewarmly since its 2023 launch.

BYD's (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) premium brand Denza has rolled out the refreshed N7 SUV (sport utility vehicle), bringing enhanced intelligent driving capabilities, as BYD focuses on vehicle intelligence this year.
Denza today launched the 2025 N7, offering three variants of the battery electric vehicle (BEV) model with starting prices of RMB 259,800 ($35,680), RMB 259,800, and RMB 289,800 respectively.
The updated Denza N7 comes standard with the God's Eye B smart driving system, also known as DiPilot 300, whose hardware includes two LiDARs.
The previously on-sale 2024 Denza N7 was launched on April 1, 2024 and was offered in four variants with starting prices of RMB 239,800, RMB 259,800, RMB 289,800 and RMB 329,800 respectively.
The 2024 Denza N7 came with 2 LiDARs only in the highest-priced variant and uses the DiPilot 300 smart driving system. The other three lower-priced variants didn't have any LiDARs and the smart driving system was the entry-level DiPilot 100.
BYD unveiled its vehicle intelligence strategy on February 10 and began dividing its smart driving system into three branches: the God's Eye A, God's Eye B, and God's Eye C.
The top-end God's Eye A system's smart driving solution is DiPilot 600, which uses three LiDARs and is primarily used in the ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang.
The God's Eye B system is DiPilot 300, which uses one or two LiDARs, and will be mainly used in Denza and some BYD premium cars.
The smart driving solution for the God's Eye C system is DiPilot 100, which doesn't have LiDAR but uses a camera vision solution for BYD's affordable models.
BYD updated 21 BYD-branded models on February 10 with the God's Eye C smart driving system.
The 2025 Denza N7 is the first model based on the God's Eye B smart driving system that BYD has launched after announcing its vehicle intelligence strategy.
Its more streamlined version options and unified smart driving system are expected to reduce the potential confusion consumers face when choosing one.
The dimensions of the updated N7 are the same as its predecessor, with the two lower priced variants measuring 4,860 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,940 mm. The highest priced variant has a different height of 1,602 mm.
The two lower-priced variants are single-motor rear-drive models with 230 kW of peak power and 360 Nm of peak torque from the rear motor. They can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
The highest-priced variant has an additional front motor with 160 kW of peak power and 310 Nm of peak torque. This variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
The 2025 Denza N7 comes standard with a BYD blade battery pack based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry with a capacity of 91.3 kWh, giving the three variants CLTC ranges of 702 km, 702 km and 630 km respectively.
Built on the 800 V high-voltage platform e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the model supports simultaneous charging with two charging guns and can get a range of 350 km in as little as 15 minutes of charging.
It comes with BYD's DiSus intelligent body control system, with the two lower-priced variants getting the DiSus-C and the highest-priced variant getting the DiSus-A that uses air suspension.
Denza is a key brand for BYD to explore the premium segment, and the N7 is one that competes with Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y.
The SUV was initially launched on July 3, 2023, but sales have been lukewarm.
The Denza N7 delivered 10,115 units for the full year 2024, contributing 8.03 percent of Denza's 126,035 deliveries for the year, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
Denza's deliveries were mainly from the D9, an MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) that delivered 102,951 units in 2024, contributing 81.68 percent of the Denza's full year deliveries.
