Correction: A previous version misspelled the energy consumption of dual-motor and single-motor versions.

A new regulatory filing has revealed information on the range of Xiaomi's (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) second electric vehicle (EV) model, the YU7, after previous regulatory filings over the past two months revealed some of its specifications.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today released a new regulatory catalog in which the Xiaomi YU7 is available in two product models -- the XMA6500LBEVA1 and the XMA6500LBEVR3, both of which are battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
The XMA6500LBEVA1 is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 101.7 kWh, and the CLTC range is available in three options: 670 km, 750 km and 760 km.
The XMA6500LBEVR3 is equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 96.3 kWh, with CLTC range options of 725 km, 810 km and 820 km.
A previous filing on December 9 showed the XMA6500LBEVA1 as a dual-motor model with Li-ion ternary batteries from CATL (SHE: 300750).
Another filing on January 10 showed the XMA6500LBEVR3 as a single-motor model with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from BYD's battery manufacturing arm, FinDreams Battery.
Ternary batteries typically have higher energy density than LFP batteries, but dual-motor models consume more energy than single-motor models.
The XMA6500LBEVA1 has a vehicle weight of 2,405 kg and a battery pack weight of 666 kg, while the XMA6500LBEVR3 has a vehicle weight of 2,315 kg and a battery pack weight of 719 kg.
This means that the dual-motor version of the Xiaomi YU7 has a battery pack energy density of 152.7 Wh/kg, while the single-motor version is 134 Wh/kg.
The model's energy consumption per 100 kilometers is as low as 13.38 kWh for the dual-motor version and 11.74 kWh for the single-motor version.
Xiaomi officially launched its first model, the SU7, on March 28, 2024. The electric sedan is available in three variants -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,720), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Deliveries of the Standard and Max versions of the SU7 began in April 2024, and deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May.
On December 9, the dual-motor variant of the Xiaomi YU7 SUV entered MIIT's regulatory catalog, showing it with length, width, and height of 4,999 mm, 1,996 mm, and 1,600 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
Xiaomi said on December 9 that the YU7's launch was expected to be in June or July 2025.
