- Maextro's first model, the Maextro S800, began pre-sales in November 2024 and is expected to be priced between RMB 1 million ($137,000) and RMB 1.5 million.
- The Maextro S800 is expected to be available in BEV and EREV variants, as well as 4- and 5-seat versions.

Huawei's HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business will hold a technology event about the Maextro brand in a week's time to continue warming up the Maextro S800 ahead of its official launch.
That event will begin at 2:30 pm Beijing Time on February 20, HIMA announced today on Weibo.
“Maextro S800, the flagship of the era, invites you to explore,” reads a HIMA poster.
Maextro is a new car brand jointly created by Huawei and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), targeting the ultra-luxury market.
Its first model, the Maextro S800 sedan, was unveiled at Huawei's new product launch event on November 26, 2024, and began pre-sales. Its official launch date is yet to be determined.
The model is expected to be priced between RMB 1 million ($137,000) and RMB 1.5 million, and those interested can pay an intention deposit of RMB 20,000 to reserve it, Huawei said at the time.
Last December, the Maextro S800 entered a regulatory filing catalog with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), indicating that the model would be offered in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
Its EREV and BEV variants have the same dimensions of 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width and 1,536 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. Both variants are available in four-seat and five-seat versions.
Maextro's factory was inaugurated on December 16 last year in Hefei, Anhui province -- where JAC is headquartered, according to a previous JAC announcement.
Maextro is the fourth new brand Huawei created with a local carmaker and is the most highly positioned under Huawei's HIMA umbrella.
The other three brands under the HIMA business are Stelato, which Huawei created with BAIC Group, Aito, a co-brand with Seres Group, and Luxeed under Chery.
Earlier this week, local media outlet 36kr reported that Huawei and SAIC Motor would be working together to create a new automotive brand, tentatively called Shangjie in Chinese, which would be the fifth brand under the HIMA business.
