Shenzhen produced 2,935,300 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2024, making it China's top vehicle producer, 21jingji said in a report today, citing Tang Shangxing, deputy director of Shenzhen's NEV industry office.

Tang mentioned the figure at a launch ceremony for autonomous parking valets at a local airport today.

Shenzhen is home to the headquarters of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), China's largest NEV maker, which has a large production base in the southern Chinese city with a planned annual capacity of 1 million vehicles.
