Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker Leapmotor (HKG: 9863), backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA), has launched the hybrid variant of the C10 in Europe, after launching the all-electric variant of the SUV (sport utility vehicle) there last September.

Leapmotor showcased its extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) technology at the Brussels auto show in Belgium on January 10, and officially launched the C10 EREV in Europe.

The C10 EREV has a combined WLTP range of more than 950 kilometers and CO₂ emissions as low as 10g/km, the company said today.

The hybrid variant started taking orders in Europe on January 10 and local deliveries will begin in March, Leapmotor said.

The Leapmotor C10, a five-seater SUV, was initially launched in China on March 2, 2024, in EREV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions.

Last September 24, Leapmotor announced that it had begun selling the C10 and the T03, the company's other compact BEV, in 13 European countries.

Since sales began in Europe and other markets in September 2024, Leapmotor has established more than 400 sales outlets in 13 European countries, with plans to expand to 500 by the end of 2025, it said today.

The company plans to launch a number of new models overseas over the next three years, with the first models including the C10 and T03, it said.

It currently sells models in China including the T03, C01, C10, C11, and C16, with all but the T03 offered in both BEV and EREV variants.

For the full year 2024, Leapmotor delivered 293,724 vehicles, an increase of 103.76 percent over 2023. It reached its full-year 2024 target of 250,000 units delivered ahead of schedule last November.

On October 26, 2023, Leapmotor said Stellantis would invest 1.5 billion euros ($1.5 billion) in it for a stake of about 20 percent, making the European auto giant its largest outside shareholder.

Leapmotor International, a 51:49 joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, was formed in May 2024 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Leapmotor is leveraging Stellantis' distribution channels to create a sales presence in international markets.
