Nio (NYSE: NIO) has opened a new showroom in the United Arab Emirates as it continues to advance its presence in the Middle East.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker today announced the opening of a Nio Space at Gate Avenue in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).
"This milestone marks a significant step forward in Nio's expansion plan in the UAE, reinforcing its commitment to redefining the premium electric vehicle experience in the region," the company said.
Nio Space is Nio's smaller showroom. Its flagship showroom is the Nio House.
On October 4, 2024, Nio signed an agreement with its Middle East backer, Abu Dhabi-based CYVN Holdings to establish Nio MENA, marking its entry into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market.
The UAE was chosen as the initial market for Nio MENA, positioning the region as a key player in the deployment of advanced autonomous driving systems and battery replacement technology, according to a statement at the time.
Nio opened a Nio House in Abu Dhabi on November 28 last year, the first Nio House to open in the MENA region.
"Following the successful launch of Nio House | Abu Dhabi, this opening represents a significant step in Nio's expansion across the Middle East and North Africa region," the company said in an announcement today.
The facility in Dubai, Nio's 439th Nio Space globally, reinforces the brand's commitment to the region and its ambition to establish a robust presence in the UAE, it said.
“The opening of Nio Space is a pivotal moment in our journey to establish Nio in the Middle East. DIFC, with its forward-thinking ethos, is the ideal location to showcase our vision for smart electric mobility,” Roberto Lopes Da Silva, General Manager of Nio UAE, said.
Nio is showcasing its models at the showroom, including the flagship six-seat SUV (sport utility vehicle) ES8, the coupe SUV EC6 and the mid-size sedan ET5. The ES8 has been rebranded locally as the EL8.
The Nio Space also showcased Nio's battery swap technology, according to the company.
