Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) today announced that cumulative deliveries of the Mona M03 reached 50,000 units, about four months after the electric sedan model was launched.

“Thanks to every young person with an interesting soul, I'm glad Mona can be your first car,” He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of the electric vehicle (EV) maker, said on Weibo.

Xpeng officially launched the Mona M03 on August 27, 2024, offering three variants with starting prices of RMB 119,800 ($16,370), RMB 129,800 and RMB 155,800 respectively.

The sedan becomes the least expensive of Xpeng's on-sale models, at roughly half the price of 's (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model 3.

Deliveries of the two lower-priced variants of the Mona M03 started at the end of August 2024, while deliveries of the highest-priced Max variant is set to start in 2025 after the Chinese New Year holiday.

The upcoming Chinese New Year holiday runs from January 28 to February 4.

On December 27, Xpeng announced that it saw the 50,000th Mona M03 roll off the production line and said at the time that the model was averaging one car off the line every 72 seconds.

Xpeng delivered a record 36,695 vehicles in December, with the Mona M03 over 15,000 units and another new model, the P7+ sedan, delivering over 10,000 units, the company said on January 1.

In a research note yesterday, Deutsche Bank expected Xpeng to deliver 400,000 units for the full year 2025, representing about 110 percent year-on-year growth.

Xpeng's delivery growth in 2025 will be largely attributed to a strong order backlog for the Mona M03 and P7+, as well as a strong new product plan, Wang Bin's team said.

The company plans to launch at least four new products in 2025, with at least one new product launch per quarter, the team noted.
