Wuling's move brings the price of an electric model with a range of 500 km below RMB 90,000 yuan.
SAIC-GM-Wuling yesterday announced a price cut for the all-electric Binguo SUV (sport utility vehicle), bringing down the affordable model's price even further.
The variant with a CLTC range of 401 kilometers now has a starting price of RMB 82,800 ($11,340). It was reduced by RMB 2,000, or 2.36 percent, from RMB 84,800 yuan.
The variant with a CLTC range of 510 kilometers now has a starting price of RMB 89,800 yuan. It was reduced by RMB 6,000, or 6.26 percent, from RMB 95,800.
The electric SUV was launched on September 20, 2024, and is offered in three variants. In addition to the two mentioned above, there is also one with a CLTC range of 330 kilometers with a starting price of RMB 75,800 yuan.
The price of its entry-level variant remains unchanged in the latest move.
The latest price adjustment, in a rare move, brings the price of an electric model with a range of 500 kilometers below RMB 90,000.
The three models of the Binguo SUV come standard with lithium iron phosphate batteries with capacities of 31.9 kWh, 37.9 kWh, and 50.6 kWh.
They come standard with a permanent magnet synchronous front motor with a maximum power of 75 kW and maximum torque of 180 Nm.
