Xiaomi EV said it has delivered more than 130,000 units of the SU7, as the electric sedan marks the one-year anniversary from its debut.
Xiaomi EV, the car-making arm of Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY), announced it has met an upwardly revised target for deliveries of the SU7, on the one-year anniversary of the model's debut.
With over 130,000 deliveries for the year to date, the Xiaomi SU7 has met all of its targets for the year ahead of schedule, Xiaomi EV announced today on Weibo.
In the coming year, Xiaomi EV's factory will continue to ramp up production and accelerate deliveries, it said.
Xiaomi EV's announcement also celebrates the one-year anniversary of the official debut of its first model, the SU7.
The electric sedan made its debut on December 28, 2023, when Xiaomi's founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun presented its core specifications and said that Xiaomi EV aimed to be one of the top five global car manufacturers within 20 years.
Xiaomi EV officially launched the SU7 on March 28 this year, offering three versions -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,580), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Deliveries of the standard and Max versions of the SU7 began in April, and deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May.
During its first quarter earnings call on May 23, Xiaomi's management mentioned that it was aiming to deliver at least 100,000 units for the full year of 2024, and would challenge the higher delivery target of 120,000 units.
On November 18, Xiaomi said SU7 deliveries had exceeded 100,000 units and announced a new 2024 target of 130,000 units.
The model exceeded 20,000 deliveries in a single month in November, the second consecutive month over the 20,000 mark, Xiaomi EV said on December 1, without revealing specific figures.
Xiaomi EV's already announced plans for new model releases include the more powerful SU7 Ultra, as well as its first SUV (sport utility vehicle) model, the YU7.
Xiaomi announced on October 29 that the SU7 Ultra became available for pre-sales in China at a price of RMB 814,900, nearly four times the regular SU7's RMB 215,900 starting price.
The official launch of the SU7 Ultra will be in March 2025, Xiaomi said on October 29.
On December 9, Xiaomi announced that its second EV model was named the YU7, with a launch expected in June or July next year.
