Nio has launched a signature edition for the ET9, priced from RMB 808,000 ($110,710), RMB 20,000 more than the standard version, after the limited edition sold out within 12 hours of launch.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) has launched a new signature edition variant for its executive flagship sedan, the ET9, after the limited edition sold out.
After the ET9 was launched on December 21, its 999 units of the limited edition sold out within 12 hours, Nio said today in an announcement on its mobile app.
Over the past few days, Nio has received a lot of requests from users about purchasing a special edition, which is why it is launching the ET9 signature edition today, priced from RMB 808,000 ($110,710), according to the announcement.
Nio launched the ET9 at its Nio Day 2024 event in Guangzhou, Guangdong province on December 21, with the four-seater sedan starting at RMB 788,000 including the battery, its highest price to date.
The company was offering a standard edition of the ET9, as well as a limited edition with only 999 units available. Including the battery, they start at RMB 788,000 and RMB 818,000, respectively.
Customers who buy based on the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental model will pay RMB 128,000 less for the vehicle and RMB 1,128 per month for the battery rental.
Compared to the standard version, the ET9 signature edition starts at RMB 20,000 higher, but has exclusive logos, free 23-inch premium wheels, free NOMI Mate 3.0 and other features.
The already sold-out ET9 limited edition, on the other hand, has exclusive features including different body logos, interior logos, carpet lights, and comes standard on premium features including NOMI Mate 3.0 and 23-inch wheels.
Nio has already started allowing customers to lock in their orders for the ET9 signature edition. The Nio App shows the delivery wait time for the variant to be 13-16 weeks, the same as the standard version.
Notably, Nio has extended the availability for most of the purchase entitlements for the ET9 to April 30 from the previously announced January 31, 2025.
For those who pay a deposit for the ET9 on or before April 30, 2025, the first owners will be entitled to 12 entitlements, including five years of free battery swap service up to 20 times a year and five years of NOP+ free usage.
Customers who purchase the ET9 on and before January 31, 2025, can receive a RMB 10,000 reduction in the purchase price by paying a RMB 5,000 deposit and receive 100 hours of exclusive chauffeur service valid for three years. This is the same as previously announced.
Deliveries of the ET9 will begin in late March 2025 based on order-locked times, Nio said.
