Nio officially launched the ET9 at its Nio Day 2024 event on December 21, allowing customers to lock in their configurations for the executive sedan. Now, its mobile app has started to show the expected delivery wait time for the model.

For customers ordering the ET9 now, they are expected to get deliveries 13-16 weeks after locking in their configurations, CnEVPost's daily monitoring shows.

If customers choose some specific configurations, the delivery wait time could be longer, Nio App's information shows.

The expected delivery cycle means that customers who buy the model now can expect delivery as soon as early April 2025.

Deliveries of the ET9 would begin in March 2025, Nio announced at the Nio Day 2024 event.

The ET9 is a four-seat sedan with a starting price of RMB 788,000 ($108,000) including the battery pack, making it Nio's most expensive to date.

The company was also offering a limited edition of just 999 units of the ET9, starting at RMB 818,000 including the battery pack.

The day after the model's official launch, Nio said on December 22 that orders for the ET9 had exceeded expectations and that the 999 units of the limited edition had sold out.

The company previously said the ET9 limited edition would be prioritized for delivery.

In a research note yesterday, Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin's team estimated that the ET9 would sell about 1,500 units a month, saying they appreciated the sedan's elegant design and advanced technologies.

Nio management's sales expectations for the ET9 don't seem to be high, considering the high price tag.

The ET9 won't be a strong performer in terms of sales figures, Nio founder, chairman and CEO William Li said in a communication with local media on December 22, adding that he would be quite happy if it can sell 1,000 units a month.

The wait times for Nio's other eight models -- ES8, ES7, ES6, EC7, EC6, ET7, ET5, ET5 Touring -- were unchanged today.

Chinese customers currently ordering the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6 will have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery. The wait times for the ET7, EC7, and ES8 are all 3-4 weeks, and the wait time for the ES7 is still not shown.
