Nio said the 999 units of the ET9's limited edition were sold out on the morning of December 22 Beijing time, with only the standard version now available.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) said it has sold out of the 999 units of the limited edition of its executive flagship sedan, the ET9, after the model was launched yesterday.
The ET9 has been well-received, with orders exceeding expectations, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker said today in a post on its mobile app.
The 999 units of the first limited edition were sold out on the morning of December 22, and the reservation channel is now closed. Those interested can order the standard version of the ET9, the company said.
Nio did not release specific order figures for the ET9, and the company had never previously announced the order performance of new models in their initial launch.
Nio officially launched the ET9 at its Nio Day 2024 event in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on December 21 with the four-seat sedan starting at RMB 788,000 yuan ($108,000) including batteries, its highest-priced model to date.
The company was offering a standard version of the ET9, as well as a limited edition with only 999 units available. Including the battery, they start at RMB 788,000 and RMB 818,000, respectively.
Customers who buy based on the BaaS (battery as a service) battery rental model will pay RMB 128,000 less for the vehicle and RMB 1,128 per month for the battery.
Compared to the standard version, the ET9's limited edition has exclusive features including different body logos, interior logos, carpet lights, and comes standard on premium features including NOMI Mate 3.0 and 23-inch wheels.
The ET9 is currently available only with a battery pack with a capacity of 100 kWh and a CLTC range of up to 650 kilometers.
Deliveries of the sedan is set to begin in March 2025.
Customers who pay a deposit for the ET9 on and before January 31, 2025, will receive a RMB 10,000 reduction in the purchase price by paying a RMB 5,000 deposit.
They will also receive 100 hours of exclusive chauffeur service valid for 3 years, as well as 12 benefits.
The ET9 is built on Nio's latest NT 3.0 vehicle platform with a vehicle system called Cedar.
The vehicle system for Nio's NT 1.0-based models is Aspen, and the NT 2.0 model is Banyan; the vehicle system for the Onvo sub-brand is Coconut.
