China's passenger new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales hit a new high in November, surpassing the 1 million mark for the fourth consecutive month.

Retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 1.277 million units in November, up 52 percent from a year ago and up 7 percent from October, according to preliminary data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

So far this year, cumulative retail sales of China's passenger NEVs totaled 9.61 million units, up 41 percent year-on-year, according to the CPCA.

Wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in November were 1.467 million units, up 53 percent from a year earlier and up 6 percent from October.

So far this year, cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 10.75 million units, up 39 percent from a year earlier.

In November, retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 2.45 million units, an increase of 18 percent compared to the same month last year and an increase of 8 percent from October.

So far this year, cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 20.28 million units, up 5 percent year-on-year.

This means that China's NEV penetration at retail stood at 52.2 percent in November and 47.36 percent year-to-date.

In the first week of November -- November 1-10, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 56,700, up 29 percent year-on-year but down 3 percent from the same period in October.

In the second week of November -- November 11-17, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 77,055, up 31 percent year-on-year and up 10 percent from the same period in October.

In the third week of November -- November 18-24, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 76,002, up 26 percent year-on-year and up 6 percent from the same period in October.

For the four weeks in November -- November 25-30, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 134,542, unchanged from a year earlier and up 38 percent from the same period in October.

Wholesale sales of all passenger cars in China in November were 2.943 million units, up 15 percent year-on-year and up 8 percent from the same period last month.

From November 1-10, the average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 66,737 units, up 41 percent year-on-year and up 45 percent from the same period last month.

From November 11-17, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 86,271, up 34 percent year-on-year and up 4 percent from the same period last month.

During November 18-24, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 94,806, up 28 percent year-on-year and up 2 percent from the same period last month.

From November 25-30, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 167,951, down 9 percent year-on-year, but up 13 percent from the same period last month.

Cumulative year-to-date wholesale sales of passenger cars in China totaled 24.12 million units, up 6 percent year-on-year.
