Xiaomi SU7 deliveries continued to exceed 20,000 units in November, marking the second consecutive month over the 20,000 mark, Xiaomi EV said.
Xiaomi EV, the car-making arm of Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY), once again saw monthly deliveries exceed 20,000 units last month, with capacity continuing to be a bottleneck.
In November 2024, Xiaomi SU7 deliveries continued to exceed 20,000 units, marking the second consecutive month over the 20,000 mark, Xiaomi EV announced on Weibo today, and as before no specific numbers were mentioned.
Xiaomi EV is confident of reaching its new delivery target of over 130,000 units for this year, it said.
Xiaomi officially launched the SU7 on March 28, offering three versions -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,810), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.
Deliveries of the standard and Max versions of the SU7 began in April, and deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May.
During its first quarter earnings call on May 23, Xiaomi's management mentioned that Xiaomi would deliver at least 100,000 units for the full year of 2024 and would challenge the delivery target of 120,000 units.
On November 18, Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun announced on Weibo that SU7 deliveries had exceeded 100,000 units, completing the full-year target ahead of schedule.
Xiaomi announced a new target at the time, saying it would challenge to deliver 130,000 units for the full year of 2024, a further increase from the previous upwardly revised 120,000 units.
For Xiaomi EV, the bottleneck for SU7 deliveries is still capacity. Customers who currently order the model have to wait at least 19 weeks for delivery, according to information monitored by CnEVPost.
In November-December, Xiaomi's monthly production of the SU7 was expected to reach 24,000 units, local media outlet 36kr said in a November 5 story.
Xiaomi is currently pressing ahead with the construction of the second phase of its EV factory, which has started double-shift construction work and is scheduled to be completed by June 2025, Caijing said in a November 22 story.
That second phase of the plant will go into operation as early as July and as late as August 2025, when Xiaomi EV's annual production capacity will reach 300,000 units, the report noted.
The second model of Xiaomi EV is scheduled to be launched in February or March next year, Caijing's report said, citing a Xiaomi insider.
