BYD has launched the Sealion 07 EV in Norway -- rebranded locally as the Sealion 7 -- after launching the electric SUV in other European markets earlier this month.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched the Sealion 07 EV in Norway, after launching the electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) model in other European markets earlier this month.
The Sealion 07 EV has been rebranded as the Sealion 7 in Norway, as BYD has done in other European markets.
As of today, BYD has seven models available in Norway, with the other six going by the local names of Seal U, Seal, Dolphin, Tang, Atto 3, Han. Seal U is known as Song Plus EV in China, and Atto 3 is known as Yuan Plus in China.
The Sealion 07 EV starts at NOK 469,900 ($42,150) in Norway.
The electric SUV is the first model of BYD's e-Platform 3.0 Evo -- an upgraded version of the e-Platform 3.0, which went on sale in China on May 10.
The model is currently available in China in four variants, which start at RMB 189,800 ($26,220), RMB 199,800, RMB 219,800, and RMB 239,800.
On October 14, BYD showcased a number of models at the Paris auto show in France and introduced the Sealion 07 EV to local consumers.
On November 12, BYD officially launched the Sealion 07 EV in Europe at an event in Frankfurt, Germany, saying at the time that deliveries of the model there would begin in 2025.
BYD sold 502,657 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in October, which includes 500,526 passenger NEVs as well as 2,131 commercial vehicles, according to figures it announced earlier this month.
The BYD Sealion series sold 19,232 units in October, up 64.90 percent from September, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In overseas markets, BYD sold 31,192 NEVs in October, up 2.20 percent year-on-year but down 5.51 percent from September.
