Avatr has opened its first showroom in Thailand and delivered the Avatr 11 SUV to its first over 100 local customers.
Avatr Technology, the electric vehicle (EV) brand backed by Changan Automobile, CATL, and Huawei, has opened its first showroom in Thailand, after announcing its entry into the Southeast Asian country's automotive market about two months ago.
Avatr has opened its first showroom in Thailand and delivered the Avatr 11 SUV (sport utility vehicle) to its first more than 100 customers, it announced yesterday.
The EV maker held a brand launch event in Bangkok, Thailand on September 17 to announce its official entry into the local market and rolled out the right-hand drive version of the Avatr 11 SUV.
The Avatr 11 is offered in Thailand in Standard Range and Lang Range variants, which start at 2,099,000 baht ($60,940), 2,299,000 baht respectively.
Avatr is confident of making Thailand a stronghold in its globalization strategy, which will help it enter more Southeast Asian countries and the global right-hand drive market, the EV maker said at the time.
Avatr was initially set up as Changan Nio by Changan and Nio (NYSE: NIO) on July 10, 2018. Currently Nio has substantially exited from the joint venture.
Avatr 11 is the first model of Avatr, which was officially launched in August 2022 in China.
The model is currently offered in four variants in China with starting prices of RMB 300,800 ($41,860), RMB 330,800, RMB 330,800, and RMB 390,800. The vehicles in China are left-hand drive.
Avatr will accelerate its overseas presence, with plans to expand its business coverage to 50 countries and set up more than 100 overseas official authorized stores by 2025, the company said previously.
Separately, according to an announcement yesterday on the Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange, Avatr has clarified its plans to go public in 2026. The announcement provided no further details.
Avatr sold a record 10,056 vehicles in October, it said earlier this month, without announcing delivery figures as it had done previously.
It delivered 4,537 vehicles in September, bringing January-September deliveries to 40,904 vehicles, a 132.55 percent increase year-on-year.
