Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) seems to be getting good reception in Singapore, after entering the market in late July.

In September, the Xpeng G6 ranked among the top 3 sellers of all-electric SUVs (sport utility vehicles) in Singapore, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker said today in a post on its WeChat account.

The company officially entered the Singapore market on July 25, opening a flash store at UOB Plaza in the heart of the central business district, allowing visitors to test drive the G6.

In the last week of August, the Xpeng G6 began deliveries in Singapore, the company said today.

Just a month after deliveries began, the G6 is already rivaling Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) monthly deliveries in Singapore, it said, without disclosing specific delivery figures.

Xpeng opened a new showroom in Singapore on November 2 at 281 Alexandra Road, covering more than 800 square meters over two floors.

Xpeng says G6 cracks top 3 pure electric SUV sales in Singapore-CnEVPost

It hosted an open day weekend from November 2 to November 3 to entice local visitors to test drive the G6.

The G6 is just the beginning, and Xpeng will be bringing more models to Singapore, said the company's vice president James Wu.

The G6, a Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y competitor, was initially launched in China on June 29, 2023, with deliveries starting in early July last year.

The Xpeng SUV currently has a starting price of RMB 199,900 ($28,140) in China, lower than the RMB 249,900 price of the locally produced Model Y.

The G6 is priced much higher in Singapore than in China, mainly because of the high cost of owning the vehicle.

The G6 is currently offered in two variants in Singapore, starting at SGD 214,999 ($163,330) for the standard range version and SGD 228,999 for the long-range version after the inclusion of COE (Certificate of Entitlement).

Xpeng delivered 23,917 vehicles in October, the second consecutive month of record highs, according to figures it released earlier this month.

This is up 19.57 percent from 20,002 in the same month last year and up 12.01 percent from 21,352 in September.

In October, deliveries of the Xpeng Mona M03 topped 10,000 units for the second consecutive month, the company said, without mentioning specific figures or deliveries of other models.

From January through September, the Xpeng G6 delivered 32,965 vehicles, including 5,918 in September, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
